The Relationship Between SpO₂ and Laboratory Diagnostic Markers of Cardiovascular Patients with COVID-19

Background: In December 2019, a new virus, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was identified as cause of cluster cases pneumonia unknown etiology in Wuhan, China. The COVID-19 increases cardiovascular events both directly and indirectly. This study aimed to investigate laboratory diagnostic markers patients with Ayatollah Taleghani hospital Abadan from March 20, 19, 2020. Materials Methods: is cross-sectional analytical study. Some demographic, laboratory, clinical information 200 admitted hospital, Abadan, received randomly by referring medical records section health system (HIS) well searching patient records. Inclusion criteria included who had been diagnosis cardiologist infectious specialist, those whose available HIS. results were analyzed using SPSS software version 24. Results: mean age reported be 66.98±18.14. revealed that fasting blood sugar (FBS), serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), creatinine (Cr), urea nitrogen (BUN), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) higher than normal level these patients. addition, oxygen saturation (SpO2) observed lower normal. Reducing SpO2 less 90% significantly related increasing age, death, history lung disease, duration hospitalization ICU, intubation. reduction also led an increase respiratory (RR), LDH, ESR, C-reactive protein (CRP+1) COVID-19. Conclusion: COVID-19, FBS, some kidney markers, liver inflammatory normal, significant relationship between which requires extensive studies larger sample size.
